A train derailed in southern Switzerland after potentially being struck by an avalanche. After this incident, 29 passengers were rescued successfully and five were injured, While one of the passengers required hospital treatment. 

This accident occurred when the region was suffering from extreme weather streams. The heavy rains and snow caused storms in the Swiss Alps, therefore the possibility of high risk of avalanche. The authorities warned people and visitors to be vigilant.
